A shrewd Corkman is raising money for his upcoming Las Vegas wedding by auctioning off $300 (US) places at the ceremony to online strangers.

Patsy O’Connor, 39, and his 28-year-old fiancee Radina Hadshieva have another bargaining chip… the wedding falls on March 16 and if the couple enjoy your company enough they will be invited to spend St Patrick’s Day celebrating with the partly Irish wedding party.

With 53 days to go there has been just one bid so far to attend the day, for $350 for the honour of being ‘Guest 1’.

On his website www.gatecrashmywedding.com Patsy gives a brief bio of each confirmed wedding guest so you know who you’ll be spending the day with, and his thoughts behind the idea after costs for planning the nuptials spiralling to £12,000.

“Less than 12 months ago, around St. Patrick’s Day, I was at a wedding in Las Vegas of a close friend of mine. A Vegas wedding is a once in a lifetime experience I totally recommend. If anyone had told me that in a year I would be back in Vegas for my own wedding, I would have replied “B****x”,” he says.

“What’s landed me in this situation is that I met a Bulgarian girl a while back, and we fell head-over-heels in love. So one day I decided to check the lie of the land and I asked her “If I were to ask you to marry me, would you say yes?” And she did.”

His reasons go on about how he developed the ‘unique’ idea and that ‘if we like you at the wedding, then you will be invited along for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities’.

Travel arrangements are not included in the price but the lucky six will get the ‘matrimonial ceremony, a full sit down meal, open bar, character filled and fun fuelled guest list, DJ, dancing and general all round shenanigans!’

The couple are also advertising sponsorship opportunities for individuals or companies who wish to help out with limo hire, hotels, flights and even their gambling budget.

Bargain! Especially to spend time with the bridal party who describe themselves as ‘nuts’.
