Cork beach voted best in Ireland

Inchydoney beach in Clonakilty, West Cork has been named Ireland’s favourite beach by international tourists for the third year in a row.

TripAdvisor announced its users’ favourite beaches around the world, including a top 10 for Ireland. It is based on the reviews given over the past year.

Although the ‘Rebel County’ was responsible for the top spot, Kerry beaches dominated the list, with four beaches in the national Top 10.

Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos Islands of the Caribbean was crowned number one beach in the world.

Ireland’s top 10 was as follows:

1. Inchydoney, Co Cork;
2. Derrynane, Co Kerry;
3. Inch Beach, Co Kerry;
4. Lahinch, Co Clare;
5. Rossbeigh, Co Kerry;
6. Banna, Co Kerry;
7. Maghera, Co Donegal;
8. Curracloe, Co Wexford;
9. Renvyle, Co Galway;
10. Portmarnock, Co Dublin.
