Conor McGregor’s preparations for UFC 197 are well underway
The Irish boxer known as The Notorious, recently wowed viewers with his 13-second knock out of Jose Aldo to become the UFC Featherweight Championship.
All eyes are now on the MGM Grand for March 5th where McGregor will attempt to become the first man in UFC history to hold belts in two different weight divisions as he takes on lightweight Rafael dos Anjos.
McGregor spoke about both fights last year “We will take Aldo and we will take dos Anjos, without a problem,” McGregor said during a media lunch.
“The featherweights must beg now. They must beg for pardon, beg for forgiveness. If that’s the case, if they apologize and beg, I’ll leave the division. I won’t terrorize them anymore. They can have their division back. They can go back to being on the prelims and I’ll go to the lightweight division.”
McGregor added an extra message for dos Anjos “So, guess what Raphael?” he said. “I’m coming to get you, too.”
Twitter and Instagram have been alight with photos and videos of the colourful boxer over the last few weeks as he, and his training partner Peter Queally get into shape in California.
Queally is a Waterford fighter who has moved between welterweight and lightweight. This means he should act as the perfect counterpoint to the conceivably bigger challenge that McGregor will face against Dos Anjos on March 5th.
