London manager Paul Coggins was full of praise for his players’ sublime first half to open up a 14-point lead, and the battling qualities they showed in the second to hang onto it.
“It was a tremendous first half from us – we couldn’t have asked any more,” he said. “We were trying to keep as composed as we could on the line [in the second half] but they were putting extreme pressure on us.
“Leitrim really came at us. They really put everything into it and we were just trying to hold in there. Maybe we pulled back a little bit too much, but it was a very big wind. We were trying not to concede goals. We would have expected to have got another few scores in the second half.
