These police officers certainly know how to keep their borough on their toes

Yesterday evening on the Grand Union Canal towpath, one drug dealer will have found a wittily triumphant note from police officers in place of his secret stash.

The “sneaky hidey-hole” containing two bags of a marijuana-based drug was discovered on Wednesday. Camden Town police sergeant Paul Taylor wrote on Twitter: “Drugs found by the team today in the dealers’ latest sneaky hidey-hole. Found by PC ‘Sniffer’ Simmond’s snout.”

He added: “Officers had left a note in place of the drugs.” Accompanying the post were two photos. The first was of the illegal items seized and the secon was a piece of paper with ‘Metropolitan Police Service’ emblazoned at the head, sporting the brief but triumphant handwritten phrase: “Unlucky.”
