RONAN KEATING’S eighth annual star-studded Emeralds & Ivy Ball took place in London on Saturday.
In aid of Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation which was set up after the singer’s mother died of cancer in 1998, the charity event saw Boyzone perform some of their greatest hits at Old Billingsgate.
The event, which Ronan attended with his Australian girlfriend Storm Uechtritz and three of his four children, was hosted by County Down presenter Christine Bleakley and Emma Willis. Guests included Vanessa Feltz, Amir Khan, Alan Shearer, Christopher Dean and Jane Torvill.
Alongside Ronan’s performance with Boyzone, TV presenter and DJ Steve Jones was spinning the decks. Past performers have included Leona Lewis, Gary Barlow, The Saturdays and Diversity.
In 2011 James Corden joined Ronan on stage for an impromptu duet and in 2012 Ronan performed Fairytale of New York with Cerys Matthews.
It is hoped this year’s star-studded will have raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation.
Since 2006, the Emeralds & Ivy ball has raised over £4.5 million for vital Cancer Awareness Roadshow Units. They tour the UK helping to increase awareness of the causes and early symptoms of cancer, as well as the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, by bringing information and highly trained nurses into communities.
Ronan is currently on the BZ20 tour with Boyzone, which marks the band’s 20-year anniversary.
