Bono has been considering making the transition into acting, but daughter Eve Hewson advised him to stay away from the acting game.

Speaking to W magazine, the 23-year-old actress said that her dad was interested in a part in a new film, and has already been looking at some famous co-stars.

She said: “My dad wants to be an actor now. He’s like, ‘What do you think of me being in a movie with Beyoncé?’  And I said, ‘Stick to your day job!'”

Hewson is currently promoting her latest role as a nurse in the Cinemax mini-series The Knick, which she stars in alongside Clive Owen. The show is set in early 20th century New York City, in the troubled Knickerbocker Hospital.

Hewson said of the show, directed by Steven Soderbergh: “I walked onto the set and thought, ‘Is this actually happening?”

The Irish star had to do an American accent for the role and also studied the basics of 20th century medicine for her role.
