Bodies of two brothers found in Sligo

By staff reporter

Gardai are investigating the deaths of a nine-year-old boy and his 20-year-old brother after their bodies were found near Tubercurry, Co Sligo.

The boy was found with stab wounds at his home in Banada, Tourlestrane just after 7.30pm yesterday evening. He was taken by air ambulance to Sligo Regional Hospital, where a short time later he was pronounced dead.

The man was found dead in a shed at the same location. It seems he may have stabbed his younger brother before killing himself.

Gardaí are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

The State Pathologist’s Office has been notified and the scene has been preserved pending a technical examination.
