An Irish Blues Festival staged in m19 bar & live music venue was one of the opening weekend highlights at this year’s Manchester Irish Festival and Levenshulme Pub Company’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The Festival was headlined by Sean Taylor who was playing the venue as part of his European tour promoting his new album.
The other acts involved in the festival were Jo Lewis, Tracey Browne, Hey Bulldog, Zacc Rogers and the newly formed Ged Wilson Celtic Blues trio. A packed out venue gave all the acts a great reception and Sean received calls for not one but two encores. Film students from Quay News from the BBC’s Media Centre came down to record the event for their weekly news show.
Just over 40 events are being staged by the Levenshulme Pub Company whose flagship venues are M19bar, the Union, Hennigans Sports Bar and the Farmers Arms in Burnage. The eleven day programme of events features a mixture of Art, Comedy, Dance and Music and runs from Friday 7 March until St Patrick’s Day on Monday 17 March where the company will stage a 12 hour marathon of events.
