Sam Potts’ Morrissey

A portrait of well known singer Morrissey and sketching of Neasden are among the images featuring in Hello? I Love You?, the group exhibition that launches at The House Gallery in Camberwell on Friday February 14.

All five artists Samuel Potts, Matthew Gent, Jinuk Sarkar, Stephen Hennessy and Panna Parmar, were contemporaries at Norwich School of Art, graduating in 2003.In the decade since, they have specialised in print making, painting and illustration and have now come together to give you their take on romantic matters with a Valentine’s flavoured exhibition. It is the first time they have all exhibited together since college.

Jarvis Cocker by Sam Potts

Yorkshire born, Samuel Potts specialises in portraiture commissions and regularly exhibits in the UK. Hello? I Love You? Shows his impressions of the former Smiths frontman Morrissey and Jarvis Cocker. Other rock personalities to get the same treatment have been Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Brian May and Ozzie Osbourne.

Printmaker Matthew Gent creates detailed limited edition woodcuts as one off gig posters and gallery commission pieces.
Sam and Matthew used to play together in the rock band Sneaking Fog who cultivated a large following and while still at college, supported The Darkness in Norwich.

Neasden Underground station by Stephen Hennessy

Stephen Hennessy is a painter who transforms his observations from his travels into paintings and exhibits internationally. Stephen grew up in Kilkenny and this exhibition shows his sketchings of Neasden, where he was born.

illustrator Jhinuk Sarkar has exhibited and taken part in residencies around the world.

Panna Parmar has exhibited her colourful screen prints and etchings in London.

The exhibition starts on February 14th 2014 for two weeks at the House Gallery in Camberwell.

Private View will be held at the gallery from 7pm on Thursday 14th February 2014.
