Aer Lingus long-haul operations at risk

Ireland’s former national airline says 70% of its losses can be attributed to long-haul operations and there is a very real concern that it will not be able to continue the services.

Earlier this week, Aer Lingus announced its intention to cut 676 jobs as part of a new plan to cut €97m from annual costs.

It is believed the airline is seeking 229 redundancies among cabin crew, including 102 workers based in Shannon.
