Robinson and McGuinness don't see eye to eye
Northern Ireland's First Minister and Deputy First Minister have had a public row in front of Taoiseach Brian Cowen. By Pat Holland - 14/12/09
The dispute took place this afternoon after the North/South Ministerial meeting in Limavady, Co Derry.
DUP leader Peter Robinson and Sinn Féin's Martin McGuiness did not agree on policy issues and party positions over the devolution of justice and policing powers when asked questions by press following the meeting.
Both politicians shook their heads and raised exasperated eyebrows during the news conference, where also present were Brian Cowen and seven Government Ministers, including Tánaiste Mary Coughlan, Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin and Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan.
Talks are focusing on the subject of cross border co-operation but meanwhile, tension amongst leaders in the power-sharing executive at Stormont seem to be on the rise.
Mr Cowen spoke of these strains between the two main parties in the North with Gordon Brown last week.
The same problems have also been discussed recently by Micheál Martin and Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward.
