Ryanair says Aer Lingus should honour €5 tickets

Aer Lingus said the mistake was through a technical error, and said people buying tickets should have known there was something not right.

A spokesman for Ryanair - a major shareholder in Aer Lingus – told RTE radio that the airline was obliged to accommodate the potential transatlantic passengers.

Peter Sherrard (pictured), Ryanair's Communications Director, said it would be senseless to bring up the issue at the next shareholders' meeting because Aer Lingus rarely listened to what Ryanair had to say.
