Racing magnate defends Woods
Irish racing magnate and multi-millionaire JP McManus has spoken out in support of his friend Tiger Woods. By Pat Holland - 28/12/09
The businessman is one of the first to speak out in defence of the disgraced golfer since he was unveiled to have allegedly had a string of affairs.
Mr McManus said it was crucial to remember how much work the superstar golfer had done for charity in Ireland.
“He has done a lot of very good things in his time”, said Mr McManus. “He’s done a lot of work for charity and he has been very good to Ireland.”
Speaking of his personal fondness for Woods, he called the sportsman “a very personable guy”, adding that he hoped to see him back in Ireland this year.
