Luck of Irish runs out for twins

Following weeks of controversy, conspiracy theories and clinging on to their places for dear life, the Dublin Grimes twins have left the competition.

The quaffed twosome were sent off after a shock sing-off with favourite Olly Murs.

Described earlier in the show as an “unstoppable machine”, the judges nonetheless decided it was their time, saving the Essex boy instead.

The two 18-year-olds sang Boyzone's No Matter What, but Olly’s version of Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight was just too good.

Judge Cowell said: "I'm actually going to miss you, I am."

The pair were still smiling after the result, and said Olly deserved to go through and reach the final.

One said: "It's been the greatest experience of my life. We're here every single weekend on live television having the greatest time of our life."

The other added: "It's, like, deadly. It's, like, so cool."
