Sheamus O'Shaunessy takes another step towards world domination

The larger-than-life wrestler that The Irish World recently caught up with, Sheamus O’Shaunessy has followed up his violent role in Irish movie 3 Crosses with a high profile part in prison break thriller The Escapist opposite Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) and Brian Cox (The Bourne Identity).

Director Rupert Wyatt, who co-wrote the script, was in difficulty finding someone for the role of 'Two Ton', requiring as it did an actor of substantial size who could be extremely physically intimidating and believable in a prison setting. At six-foot-six and 20 Stone the Dublin wrestler bagged the role easily.

Sheamus has been shooting at Kilmainham Jail with Cox and Fiennes as well as other Irish actors such as Liam Cunningham. Fiennes and Sheamus had previously been rehearsing and choreographing their crucial fight scene in both London and Dublin since late January.
