Royal turnout for Albin-Dyer Service

Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor and the Princess Royal, Princess Anne were the guests of honour at the 10th Albin-Dyer Memorial Garden service in South London last week.

The Princess also performed the official opening of the FA Albin & Sons Museum, which exhibits artefacts collected over the firm’s 200 year history.

The service included a narration by Barry Albin-Dyer, the blessing of ashes, readings, poems and songs.

The service was also attended by military personnel and a tribute was paid to those who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bodies of fallen soldiers are return to the UK by the company.

The company name is synonymous with Bermondsey, where it handled the funeral of Jade Goody earlier this year.
