That crazy-assed musician-come-comedian from Down Under, Tim Minchin has just finished a tour across the UK with his critically acclaimed new show ‘Ready For This’ (visit www.timminchin.com).
If for some reason (I can’t imagine what), you missed the boat, then never fear, as a new two disc DVD re-release shows him off in all his eccentric glory.
The star musician, comedian, writer and actor toured ‘So F**king Rock Live across the UK to packed out houses, culminating in a six-week, off Broadway run in NYC.
Now, this madcap 2-hour journey by the musical virtuoso can be enjoyed from the comfort of your sofa in this special edition release, available only at HMV.
In a performance that delicately marries his luminous shows ‘Dark Side’ and So Rock’, including two audio track CDs at the Queen Elizabeth hall, London as well as footage of the comedian’s 2008/2009 tour, this proves if proof is needed that Minchin, with his wittily stupid musical comedy, is a unique gem of a performer.
It’s the same as the old DVD, essentially, but with some funky new packaging just in time for Christmas.
This one, for instance, contains a lyric booklet to help you sing along with all the daft songs from the show as well as a second bonus disc full of extras, including
sing-along Canvas Bags, several performances from The Sideshow and various other TV appearances.
