The importance and continued popularity of 80s pop is not to be sniffed at – just think about some of the big synthesised music producers of the era: Gary Numan, The Human League, Heaven 17, OMD, Yazoo, Ultravox, Japan, Visage, Devo, Sparks, Joy Division, New Order and The Pet Shop Boys.

These artists all pushed the boundaries by experimenting with Moog and Roland synths, and ultimately paved the way for the house and techno producers of the 90s to the present day.
