Armed robbers take More4Less

Gardai are investigating two armed robberies at a shopping centre in Dublin

More4Less Food in Bawnogue Shopping Centre in Clondalkin suffered the raids on April 1 and April 3.

Employees at the shop believe the same man was involved in both incidents, acting with an accomplice during the latter.

The pair entered with weapons and, at one stage, pointed a gun towards a ten-year-old boy.

They made off with small amounts of cash, heading on foot towards Alpine Heights.

The attacks follow a spate of robberies on businesses at the shopping centre in recent months, an area that has a long-standing problem with anti-social behaviour.

A Garda spokesman said: “We are investigating an incident in which a lone male entered a Bawnogue shop on April 1 before 8pm.

“He is believed to be in possession of a black hand-gun, threatened staff and left with a small amount of cash.

“On April 3, in a similar incident, two males entered the premises – one in possession of a black hand-gun, the other with a long kitchen knife.

“Again staff were threatened and they left with a small amount of cash.”
