April Snow-globe Mayo

April Snow-globe Mayo

The UK has suffered a spate of cold weather in the past few days, with people across Scotland and the north of England waking up to blankets of snow.

And it seems the sensation has made its way across the Irish Sea as Co. Mayo suffered a fully-fledged blizzard this week.

On April 28 there was also snow in parts of Co. Donegal and Co. Laois, while social media users in Dublin complained about experiencing all four seasons in one day.

People across the country were commenting on their love for snow, but most drew the line at having to experience it as we approach May.

The canny marketing team at Knock Airport, however, decided to use the bizarre weather to their advantage.

They posted a video to twitter highlighting the amount of snow on the ground, before confirming that all flights were still going ahead.

They then quipped about offering late ski deals, as well as low-cost trips to much sunnier climates in places like the Canary Islands.
