All he wanted for Christmas was two front teeth
Pogues’ frontman Shane MacGowan has undergone a festive transformation this year as he is now the proud owner of a new set of dental implants.

MacGowan’s teeth and appearance, after years of hard-living, are nearly as synonymous to his image as his distinctive voice.
But having been persuaded by his fiancé Victoria Mary Clarke, who has been with the singer/songwriter for 30 years, he underwent radical surgery, including six separate operations, to improve his appearance.
Macgowan, who will turn 58 on Christmas Day, now says that he has reclaimed his unique singing voice as he can now ‘phrase things properly’, and has even been able to eat his first apple in years.
The journey is documented in a new TV programme for Sky Arts called Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn.
Clarke says the new teeth were based on Irish actor Michael Fassbender’s, but MacGowan insisted on having one gold tooth to complete the set of 22 new teeth.
