The fight between Beyoncé’s sister Solange Knowles and Jay-Z has been named as the best celebrity feud of 2014 – according to a new poll by ECigaretteDirect.co.uk.

The leaked video, which showed Solange trying to punch and kick her brother-in-law Jay-Z in a lift, secured the top spot with over a quarter of respondents, 26%, agreeing it was the best celebrity run-in.

Neither camp has commented on it since, but the next week Beyoncé posted the above photo to her Instagram account of her and Solange smiling into the camera to show that the rift had not affected their sisterly love.

Second place went to the two queens of controversy Katie Hopkins and Lily Allen who received 20% of votes for their Twitter spat which involved Katie publicly slating the pop singer’s looks.

Other celebrity spats which made the list included: Rob versus the rest of the Kardashians, Katie Price vs Kieran Hayler and Ferne McCann vs Chloe Sims.

The full results of the top 10 celebrity feuds of 2014 are as follows:

1) Solange Knowles vs Jay Z 26%
2) Katie Hopkins vs Lily Allen 20%
3) The Kooks vs One Direction 16%
4) Rob Kardashian vs The Kardashians 12%
5) Katie Price vs Kieran Hayler 9%
6) Ferne McCann vs Chloe Sims 7%
7) Alex Mytton vs Binky Felstead 4%
8) Professor Green vs Rizzle Kicks 3%
9) Max George vs Michelle Keegan 2%
10) Danny Dyer vs Alan Sugar 1%

In third place was the boy band battle between global superstars One Direction and front man of The Kooks Liam Pritchard, who drunkenly tweeted saying he’d rather One Direction fans didn’t follow him on Twitter.

The tweet sparked a response from One Direction member Liam Payne, who expressed his disappointment in the insult and proved popular amongst respondents with 16% choosing it as their favourite celebrity argument.

In fourth position with 12% of the vote was solo male member of the Kardashian clan, Rob, who made a bold public statement when he unfollowed all of his family members on Twitter except his mum and younger sister Kylie Jenner.

Those questioned also said Rob missing his own sister’s wedding to rapper Kanye West was the ultimate insult and their favourite family feud of the year.

Fifth place went to former glamour model and mother-of-four Katie Price who received nine per cent of the vote for her Twitter tirade where she described husband Kieran Hayler as a ‘disgusting human being’ after learning of his affair.

In sixth place were TOWIE girls Ferne McCann and Chloe Sims, who got seven per cent of the vote for their huge bust-up in Marbella over Chloe’s brother Charlie Sims.

Made in Chelsea’s Binky Felstead and Alex Mytton were seventh with four per cent of respondents saying Binky slapping Alex during an episode made it their favourite celebrity spat.

Eighth position went to rapper Professor Green and two man band Rizzle Kick’s Twitter arguement over a potato, which received three per cent of the vote.

The Wanted’s Max George and ex soap star Michelle Keegan came ninth with two per cent of votes after he took to Twitter to vent about Michelle not letting him into a VIP area in Marbella where she was sitting with fiancé Mark Wright.

One voter said: “I chose the Twitter exchange between Liam Payne and Liam Pritchard just because it was so funny to watch.

“Celebrities have a very bad habit of airing their dirty laundry on Twitter, not that I’m complaining because it creates a lot of entertainment.”

A spokesperson for ECigaretteDirect.co.uk said: “Celebrities are always going to have run-ins with one another, it’s a natural part of life because you can’t get on with everyone.

“Feuds happen a lot more online nowadays than which means fans know more about what’s going on.

“Whilst some fights are funny, others can get a little too intense so it’s important to know how to conduct yourself especially if you have a large fan-base.”
