Liverpool-Irish country singing sensation Nathan Carter has been announced as a support act for American country legend Garth Brooks’ eagerly awaited Croke Park shows in July.

The Irish World Award winner will warm up the crowd for Brooks on Monday July 28 and Tuesday July 29, with former Westlife star Shane Filan doing Saturday and Sunday night.

Brooks is the first ever act to sell out the stadium for five straight nights and tickets were sold out in minutes. But anyone unlucky not to get one should ask Nathan Carter as the singer had a couple of tickets to see his hero before getting confirmation he would be performing himself.

A laughing Carter told The Irish World: “I’ve got tickets for the Friday and Saturday night so it’s kind of strange. I’ll have to sell those tickets now or I might still go to one of them anyway.

“It’s absolutely great to get the gig. I’ve admired Garth since I was a kid. I remember getting his CDs and videos for Christmas when I was a kid and watching him at the age of four, even two.”
