Darragh McGann, The Singing Taxi Driver from Cork who had his ten minutes of fame on Britain’s Got Talent is releasing a version of Danny Boy.

The move follows the airing of The Reveal edition of the British show where judge David Walliams revealed that Darragh had not made it to the live semi-finals.

Darragh, who has been a taxi for 18 years in his native Cobh, received 4 yeses and a standing ovation when he performed Danny Boy at the Belfast auditions.

But knowing what the outcome of The Reveal was going to be, he has teamed up with producer Mark Cahill to record Danny Boy and a version of John Lennon’s Imagine, where he will be accompanied by the famous Prague FILMHarmonic Orchestra.

He said: “I was simply blown away by the comments and support from both the judges and the audience in Belfast. For Simon Cowell to describe my audition as special was all I was seeking.

“While I am disappointed, I am even more excited now at the thought of recording with the Prague Orchestra and so looking forward to releasing both songs”

Danny Boy and Imagine will be released in the coming weeks. Meanwhile the You Tube clip of Darragh’s audition has amassed over 72,000 views.
