Mark Gottsche will assume the role of London county board secretary from next Monday night’s [December 16] Convention at Ruislip.

Gottsche – a member of the London senior football team – takes over the role from John Molloy, who steps down after completing the maximum five-year term in the position.

Gottsche, who’d previously being in full-time employment with the GAA as Senior Games and Logistics Manager, will now assume the title of County Secretary and Logistics Manager.

“The secretary’s position is a very demanding role in terms of administration and being a full-time employee allows me to give it my full attention,” said Gottsche. “John has done a great job for the last five years. It’s very demanding to do a county secretary’s job and be in full-time employment.

“The secretary has to support the county team in different ways. Fixtures was an issue this year so hopefully I can provide a better master fixtures plan for our club players to allow them to play the game… fixtures are taking place as and when they’re scheduled.”

Gottsche will occupy the role until at least the end of his present contract with the GAA, which runs to August 2015.
