London 0-21
Armagh 0-14
By Joe Pilkington at the Athletic Grounds
An 11-point haul, two from play, three converted “65’s” and six frees from the stick of Man of the Match Gerard Hennelly pointed London to a comfortable 0-21 to 0-14 victory over Armagh at a sparkly attended Athletic Grounds in the Cathedral city of Armagh.
Indeed the first half scoring for the Exiles was an all Kilburn Gaels affair as three players from the club accounted for their 12 scores, which gave them a 0-12 to 0-7 interval lead. Hennelly led the way with seven but Martin Duggan weigh in with four super points all from play and former Armagh player midfielder Christopher McAlinden made it the round dozen.
Duggan, along with Stephen Lambert and Brian Reagan having hot-footed it from Greenford the previous day, after both made late substitute appearance for St Kiernan’s against St Brendan’s 24 hours earlier in order to qualify to play for London’s hurlers.
