Having given youth its head last weekend and seen his faith rewarded with a comprehensive 53-0 over Fiji at Thomond Park, head coach Declan Kidney now faces the dilemma ahead of Saturday’s clash with Argentina.
Can he really afford to throw some of his young guns into the cauldron of a full bloodied Test match against the Pumas?
Admittedly it was a below strength Fijian side which Ireland’s youngsters put to the sword, but Ireland looked so predictable behind the scrum against South Africa that an injection of youthful exuberance might just be the spark to ignite this Irish team.
Against Fiji, Ulster’s uncapped Craig Gilroy helped himself to a hat-trick while Fergus McFadden crossed twice, as the pair pressed their claims to start in Dublin on Saturday at the Aviva Stadium.
