The first episode of the next season of Nashville will include live musical performances from two of the TV series’ main characters.
Charles Esten and Chris Carmack, who play Deacon and Will, will perform in the Bluebird Cafe in the opening episode, with the concerts broadcast live on September 24 in America, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The stars will perform twice, first for East Coast viewers and later for West Coast viewers.
Show creator Callie Khouri previously told Radio Times: “We want people to know what it’s really like. The live music here is such a huge presence in our show that we thought maybe we could find a way to share with the world what that feels like for real.”
She added: “Just in case people ever wondered, ‘Are these people really singing? Are they being fixed in a studio afterwards?’ Just to give people the chance to hear how good everybody really is.”
The musical drama television series premiered on ABC, on October 10, 2012 with more than 8.93 million viewers. It stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, a legendary country music superstar whose stardom begins fading, and Hayden Panettiere as rising younger star Juliette Barnes.
A transmission date for the third series has yet to be confirmed.
