Tourists vote the Dublin matriarch as their top celebrity sat-nav voice in poll

If you thought gabby Irish mammy Agnes Brown was as ubiquitous as she could possibly get, you were wrong – she can now be the voice of your sat nav.

Mrs Brown was voted number one in a poll to determine which celebrity holidaymakers would most like to hear guiding them around their destination.

Brendan O’Carroll’s alter-ego took the title, beating Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman at two and Northern Ireland star Liam Neeson at three.

Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie was a smash in both Ireland and the UK when it opened last month. It grossed €1.02million in Ireland on the weekend it opened – the biggest opener for a film in Ireland this year so far.

The Stena Line poll also revealed that 64% of holidaymakers would happily take a car holiday with their other halves, and 52% of them would be using a GPS to get around. Just 22% would use maps and guidebooks.
