The 15th Annual Carmel Gunning International Summer School Festival of Irish Music will be held in Sligo Town and Geevagh, Co. Sligo on Aug 4-6. 

Opening the festival this year are the very talented MacAuliffe sisters Orlaith and Brogan, from London on August 4 in Earleys Pub, Bridge Street, Sligo Town.

On August 5, also in Earleys, a traditional singers evening will be held with special guest the renowned Rita Gallagher from Donegal.

Then on August 6, the festival entertainment moves to Geevagh, to McTiernans Pub in Gleann Conways Cross, where a monster music session will be held with Geevagh musicians, special guest fiddle player Joe Grady and visiting musicians.

Music and singing workshops are held during the day at 4 Church View Crescent, Ballytivnan in tin whistle, flute, traditional singing, mixed instruments and a new class in ornamentation and variation for all ages from seven years upwards and for all levels. Class fees are €25 for up to 17 years and €35 for 18 years and over.
