The 2016 Kennedy Summer School will be held in New Ross on Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th of September. It will be a festival of discussion debate and reflection on Irish and American History, Politics and Culture.
The line up of speakers this year includes An Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald TD and other leading Irish politicians, the Former Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley, the Garda Commissioner Noirin O’ Sullivan along with a number of senior U.S. Presidential campaign strategists and commentators.
Events at the Summer School will also include a keynote address on the life and work of the US Playwright Eugene O Neill who’s family heritage is local to New Ross, a staging of the comedian Paddy Cullivan’s one-man show “ The Ten Dark Secrets of 1916”. There will also be a re-staging of the iconic 1963 JFK Tea Party at Dunganstown on Friday 8th Sept, which will be hosted this year by celebrity chef Edward Hayen.
