Stena Line has announced its support for Tri-4-Life GB and Eire, an organisation which brings communities together to raise funds for good causes all over Ireland and Britain.

The Tri-4-Life GB and Eire teams are made up of volunteers of juniors, seniors and women who take part in cycling, swimming, running and walking events highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyles.

Diane Poole OBE, Stena Line’s Head of PR said:  “All of the people taking part in the fun challenges to raise funds for local, regional, national and international charities and other good causes are ordinary families who want to make a difference – they deserve a hero’s welcome wherever they visit.”

Stena Line is transporting the 40 strong Tri-4-Life teams on their ferry routes including Holyhead to Dublin and Cairnryan to Belfast, added Diane.  “The teams will take on various challenges – in Wales they will cycle, run and walk Mount Snowdon and swim LLyn Padran.

“They’ll also visit Lake Windemere in England, Loch Lomond in Scotland, Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland and Wicklow Harbour in the Republic of Ireland, to name a few, bringing with them their interactive ’Magic Moments’ roadshow that will delight and entertain those who come to support the teams and we’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone the best of luck.”

Liam Hanlon, Tri-4-life Event Director, said:  “Stena Line’s support is a huge boost to all the competitors in allowing us to reach even more communities across Ireland and the UK.  It’s all about raising much-needed cash for those who need it most plus having fun along the way.

“Thanks to Stena Line and others we had a great send off in Holyhead on July 19 and are looking forward to returning again on August 3, after a 1,000 mile journey around the UK and Ireland, where we will finish our challenge and hopefully have raised thousands of pounds for charity.”

Tri-4-Life GB and Eire provides support for young people in helping them to realise their potential through participation in a series of sport, arts, dance, drama and education initiatives as well as providing a platform for charities and good causes to raise funds at roadshows held all over Ireland and the UK.
