Ardent Tide London Senior Hurling Quarter Final:
Robert Emmetts 1-08
Sean Treacy’s 3-07

by Sean Moriarty

Three second half goals, a brace by full forward John Cusack and another by Pat Barry ensured that Sean Treacy’s have booked their place in London County Senior Hurling semi-final in ten days time.

It was an evenly contested game, with each side swapping the lead on several occasions but in overall terms it was an uninspiring and lacklustre performance. And while the Treacy’s will be happy with their advancement they will know they have a hell of a lot of work to do if they are to progress to the next stage.

Emmet’s opened the scoring with a Damian Clifford goal and edged in to a five point lead thanks to a point from play by Luke Kavanagh and a converted 65 by Fergus McMahon. But that was their lot for the opening 30 minutes.

Treacy’s opened their account with Kevin O’Loughlin’s effort from a placed ball and Phil Cocoman’s score from play but that is all they managed in the first half.

The second period was a much more tempestuous affair.
