SINGER Daniel O’Donnell’s wife Majella is the latest to get in on the celebrity barefaced selfie, which has already raised over €650,000 for cancer.

Majella, who had a double mastectomy last year after battling breast cancer, wrote good-humouredly beside her own snap: “I hope I don’t make a big boobie and post something I didn’t mean to post!”

It’s not the first time mother-of-two Majella has shown her public support in the fight against cancer. Most recently, she shaved her head live on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, which ultimately raised €600,000 for the Irish Cancer Society (ICC).

A series of well-known Irish women have got on board with the ‘no make-up selfie’ campaign so far, including mode Holly Carpenter and former Love/Hate star Susan Loughnane, and organisers feel confident they will soon reach the €1m mark.

Some female celebs haven’t been quite brave enough to reveal their make-up free faces and have posted ‘#badmakeupselfies’ instead, with OTT make-up and caked-on foundation.

But any version of the selfie is welcome as far as the ICC is concerned. Chief operating officer of LIKECHARITY, John Kyne said: “We want people to hijack the campaign and make it their own. There have been No Make-Up Groupies and lots of photos of men with make-up on. Anything that carries the campaign forward is welcome.”

Here in the UK, the No Make-Up Selfie for Cancer Awareness online campaign has raised £2m so far, after it went viral in a matter of days, with women urging their friends to post a pic on Twitter and Facebook and donate.

With hundreds of thousands of donations, 826,000 likes on Facebook and 140,000 followers on Twitter, Cancer Research UK revealed recently it was “overwhelmed with donations and support”.

To donate to Cancer Research UK, text BEAT to 70099 and donate £3.
