St Kiernan’s 2-15, Heston Gaels 0-07

By Fiona O’Brien.

St Kiernan’s opened their campaign with a clinical display against Heston Gaels last weekend, and will be encouraged by all six forwards appearing on the score sheet in Colindale.

Full forward Adrian Moyles proved he is worthy of being recalled to the London panel with a total tally of 2-5 – his keen start to the match consolidated 1-3 after only nine minutes. With further scores from Mark Mullholland and Michael Callery within this period, St Kiernan’s were enjoying a 1-4 advantage.

St Kiernan’s class dictated that it was virtually one way traffic for the entire match. Heston’s Padraig McGoldrick opening his side’s count after eight minutes, with their next point not coming until his free on the cusp of half-time.

New dad, corner forward Mullholland, made the most of his energy before any sleepless nights ahead. His spirited performance saw him darting all over the field to interlink play often from a half back position.
