Colman Hands will be hoping to make it a county final winning double next Sunday, after helping Kingdom Kerry Gaels clinch the senior football title last weekend.

Colman will now line up along brother Luke in a St Gabriel’s team hoping to make it back-to-back county titles, when they face Brothers Pearse at Ruislip next Sunday.

“That’s part one of a very, very busy week. I have to think about next weekend now and hopefully I can do the double and win the hurling with Gabriel’s,” said Hands. “To come over here and have the chance to win both in the space of a week is something very special.”

Along with Dave McGreevy, Hands was part of Tir Chonaill’s winning panel of 12 months ago before making the switch to the Kingdom. “It seems to have been a good move at this stage!” added Hands, who lined out in the final against his former Oranmore club mate, John McGrath. “There was a few words spoken, but it was all in good form.

“We talk about free flowing games of football but when you play football at this time of year what do you expect. It’s always going to come down to hard work and we had that today.”
