London full back Stephen is hoping to cap a memorable year by helping to steer hometown club St Mary’s Cahersiveen to Kerry Intermediate Championship success on Saturday.

Having been part of the London’s senior football team which reached a first-ever Connacht SFC final earlier this year, Curran will line out for St Mary’s against Currow at Austin Stack Park.

“A win would cap an exceptional year,” said Curran. “We haven’t won it since 2001 and it would be a great honour to then go and represent your county in the All Ireland.

“But they’d have ex-Kerry midfielder Seamus Scanlon playing for them and Johnny Buckley is a good forward.”
