Economy of Thought, a new play by Patrick McFadden, runs at Assembly George Square One, Edinburgh until Monday 26 August

Directed by John Higgins, the production stars Laurence Kennedy of BBC s The Hour fame (Milton) Katharine Davenport (Amanda), Ed Brody (Tom), Oliver Stoney (Rich), Jonny McPherson (Reece), and Ennis, County Clare native Roisin O’Loughlin (Collette).

RADA-trained actress O’Loughlin said: “I’m very excited to be a part of the Edinburgh Festival with this brilliant production. My sister and parents are even flying over to see the show!”

O’Loughlin has previously appeared as Joanie in Our Lady from Sligo by Sebastian Barry at RADA, as well as Mairead in Martin McDonagh’s The Lieutenant of Inishmore at the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh 2012.

Economy of Thought is set in The City, London.  When the action of four bankers during a public protest provokes an incident, events quickly spiral out of control, a riot erupts and a protester is critically injured.

A thought-provoking, darkly comic tale of money, morality, loyalty and responsibility the play looks at the most divisive issue of our times
