A more resilient and hungry Parnell’s side clinched a hard earned victory in this tough and exciting All Ireland Intermediate club championship semi-final replay that was played in bitter, cold and frosty conditions in Emyvale, Co Monaghan, on Saturday afternoon last.

The previous week, extra-time couldn’t separate these two sides, and on Saturday last, and with just a minute remaining, there was only a goal separating the sides. In the end, however, Parnell’s were deserving winners, and now progress to the All Ireland Intermediate final against Cahir from Tipperary.

It was Parnell’s who opened the scoring of the game, with a well engineered move involving Niamh Fahey, Helen Carroll and Hanna Noonan, the latter firing over a fine point. Some excellent defending by Kilkerrin/Clonberne followed before their influential midfielder Annette Clarke squared matters up with a fine point with just three minutes gone.
